ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT - CENTRAL COSTS

TEAM
As a member of the Accounting and Controls team, this role will report into the Senior Finance Manager – Accounting & Controls [TBC], providing analytical support for operations costs with a focus on Central Overheads Costs, primarily focused on payroll costs.
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for delivering the following within the financial accounting function:
> Responsibility for accounting for payroll costs, and ownership of respective balance sheets
> Creating certainty and confidence in the numbers delivered through insightful analysis and commentary to drive better business decisions
> Delivering key month end deliverables to meet required payroll payment deadlines
> Enhancing the accounting controls framework in line with accounting standards
> Setting and monitoring standards of timeliness, accuracy, insight, and presentation in all areas of financial close
> Working with key business stakeholders to improve end to end accounting of areas of responsibility
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Partnering
Provides a true Business Partner framework ensuring that business owners are supported with consistently accurate insight and information. Partnering with cross functional stakeholders including wider finance and payroll teams to ensure seamless performance.
Business Performance and Analytical support
> Providing monthly detailed analysis and insight into the costs which can be used to drive business performance
> Providing confidence in numbers and providing insight into risks and opportunities
> Providing continuous improvements in the business and finance processes
> Working closely with stakeholders, providing necessary support and understanding of costs to ensure they are articulated effectively
Accounting & Control:
> Generating month end approval analysis and timely and accurate accounting entries
> Ensuring the financial accuracy of the Group and entity Balance Sheets for all areas of responsibility; including the timely production of all balance sheet reconciliations and journals in accordance with easyJet accounting policies
> Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive to deliver meaningful change
> Ability to adapt to the requirements of the team in order to provide cover during times of absence, demonstrating a true One Team attitude
People Leadership, Relationships and Influence
> Maintaining effective cross functional relationships
> Providing subject matter expertise to a diverse and demanding set of stakeholders
> Supporting any deep dive projects with analysis
