JOB TITLE:  Accounting AssociateDEPARTMENT:  AccountingFLSA STATUS:   Hourly

LOCATION: Addison, TX

This role offers a hybrid work model, with a core requirement of three days a week on-site in our Addison office and the flexibility to work remotely on the other two days, with the option to work in-person on an as-needed basis.

JOB BRIEF:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join the Accounting Operations team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and efficient accounting operations processes. The ideal candidate will bring at least 1 years of accounting experience, preferably within the aviation industry, with Sage Intacct experience being a major plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Prepare general ledger journal entries in accordance with GAAP and bank-specific accounting standards.
  • Reconcile bank statements on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and apply operator payments, as well as liaise payment communication to/from sales
  • Supporting AR process as needed
  • Reconcile merchant processing statements
  • Respond to chargeback requests.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Analyze financial data and variances, providing insight to management as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant banking regulations.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and verify financial data.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications (Education, Computer Skills, Certifications, etc.):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in aviation, or public accounting.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Standard office environment with occasional extended hours during month-end and audit periods
  • Must maintain confidentiality and uphold the integrity of financial data.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Computer, phone skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively
  • Ability to pass 7-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline regulations and/or company policy
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986
