SUMMARY

Processing, informing, and advising all incoming, outgoing and transit shipments. The first point of contact for the wishes and needs of the customer and providing information in a commercial way and trying to sell additional services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Services Job Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Carry out a completeness check on the data of the incoming & outgoing shipments.
  • Calls customers and advises them about the arrival and content of their shipments. Informs the customer regarding delivery orders, COD checks, registration numbers or other data to be arranged. Sends data to customers who cannot be reached by phone.
  • Transfers obtained information into the computer system
  • Checks whether the customer has a delivery order or COD check before having the bill printed at the cashier.

State via the computer, document number for the purpose of checking invoices for shipments that have been cleared by the customer.

  • Runs the release note.
  • Handles transit shipments, speed mail, courier shipments and service shipments.
  • Process rates and correspondences with customer (internal & external).
  • Independently creates Notices of Non Delivery, Final Notices and email them to the appropriate stations.
  • Prepare delivery notes with the corresponding invoices for sea and air freight shipments
  • Records data in the automated system after every conversation with the customer.
  • Checks shipments to be sent to customs regarding the content (air and sea freight)

OTHER SERVICE

  • Prepare quotes
  • Calculates and makes notes for additional storage and other costs.
  • Checks based on the weekly air waybill master file and the monthly pilot inventory list whether the

shipments subject to NND/FN have not yet been delivered.

  • Handle claims

Relationship Pattern

  • Internal: Daily with colleagues (Routing and Warehouse) about the work to be performed
  • External: Daily contact with Customs and customers

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • MAVO-4 or equivalent training supplemented with freighthandling courses
  • Excellent social and commercial qualities
  • Is familiar with the work in the Routing department
  • Commercial and service-oriented attitude
  • Must be able to express sight clearly in word and writing in English, Dutch, and Papiamento
  • High degree of accuracy
