Role and Function
Plan and assign the duties for all staffing requirements. Create schedules and assist all levels of management with future scheduling requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Planning and scheduling
- Forecast, plan, create and implement schedules, including controlling the bid, for the Ramp and Pax departments.
- Must apply all airline scheduling requirements to scheduling needs of the department
- Maintain good relationships with employees, co-workers, customers, and airline authorities
- Maintain and observe confidentiality with respect to employee records
- Establish and maintain control over the staffing hours required for Ground handling operations
Others
- Understand and abide by Worker Compensation rules pertaining to injury at the work site, along with Swissport reporting requirements
- Address and manage duty to accommodation for the disability cases at work
- Manage disability claims and follow up with Teksmed service provider
- Update Vacation calendar monthly, and process employee time off weekly requests.
- Schedule Training requests (AVOP/recurrent/airline)
- Upload and update weekly and monthly flight schedules
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Staff planning/allocation experience required
- Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written)
- Proficiency in MS Office and proven ability to learn applicable software (GS Planning)
- Must possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Internal and external customer relations skills
- Knowledge of Ground Handling Operations and strong understanding of the Collective Bargaining agreement
- Must obtain and maintain valid unrestricted Transport Canada Security Clearance
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and diplomacy
