Role Summary
* In this role, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) for a variety of advanced aircraft programs. You will develop and validate E3 requirements and architectures, integrate complex systems and components, and provide EMI/EMC guidance throughout design, modification, and testing processes. You will work onsite at the facility and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, optimize designs, and support continued airworthiness. Education & Job Requirements You must have:
* A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, or physics.
* Familiarity with Electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
* Willingness to travel up to 25 of the time as required.
* A minimum of 7 years or more of related work experience (Expert Level). Preferred Skills You will have:
* Familiarity in the defense or aerospace industry.
* Previous experience with EMI/EMC standards such as MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160.
* Prior experience with Aerospace Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3).
* Experience with EMI qualification testing for aircraft LRUs, including reviewing procedures and test reports.
* Familiarity with aircraft-level E3 requirements and test methods within MIL-STD-464.
* Familiarity with electrical bonding best practices in support of E3 compliance.
* Foundation in RF systems and/or computational E3 analytical software tools. Job Duties & Functions You will be:
* Performing trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other analyses to predict component, interconnect, and system performance, optimizing design for E3 performance.
* Working under minimal direction to achieve Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structure.
* Interfacing with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure compatibility at the system level, and reporting achievements and issues to program management and customers.
* Supporting project management by coordinating the development of work statements, budgets, schedules, and conducting reviews.
* Developing and implementing test automation for aircraft modifications.
* Applying EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems.
* Processing engineering data into meaningful tables and graphs for inclusion in reports.
* Working on a cross-functional support team and communicating clearly in various review boards internally and externally.
