This role supports the Ultrasonic, Infrared, and Eddy Current Inspection Team, which is part of the Aerospace Inspection Solutions (AIS) organization, based out of Springdale, OH. This team is responsible for designing, developing, validating, and deploying ultrasonic, infrared, and eddy current NDT inspection techniques for metal and composite aircraft engine components.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
As an IR engineer, you will:
- Become knowledgeable with respect to IR inspection equipment and processes
- Engage with design, materials, and manufacturing engineering teams to define inspection requirements and assess inspectability
- Develop, validate, and deploy non-destructive inspection techniques
- Perform IR inspections, document and communicate results to customers
- Train to achieve Level 3/CA certification in IR
- Mature additional NDT methods such as Terahertz, as needed
- Provide technical support to Supply Chain inspection sources
- Perform lean, cost reduction, and problem solving activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet business commitments
- Ability and willingness to support occasional travel
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of Non-destructive Testing experience.
