Summary:
Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for hard bids, negotiated bids, and design-build projects
Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to identify cost risks and opportunities
Develop and maintain cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
Conduct site visits and engage with project stakeholders to gather data and validate estimates
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate estimates
Stay current on construction methods, materials, labor rates, and market conditions
Provide expert input on cost-saving opportunities, value engineering, and risk mitigation
Maintain and update estimating tools, databases, and spreadsheets
Participate in bid and scope reviews to support pre-construction and project planning
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners
Requirements:
Ability to Obtain a secret clearance
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Estimator (CCE)
Minimum of 5 years experience in construction estimating
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry trends
Proficiency in estimating tools such as Excel, Timberline, or similar software
Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
