Job Description The selected candidate will serve as a technical liaison and provide technical support to the United States Navy for the AN/UPX-42(C) IFF Interrogator system. Work will include assisting other technicians and working on projects involving Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA systems. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and onsite government customers.
The applicant must achieve BAE Systems certifications in soldering techniques and perform basic hand soldering.
Will interpret and work with schematic diagrams, manufacturing procedures, Maintenance Action Forms (MAFs), and technical drawing packages and use hand tools and various measurement tools and devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, VSWR testers and IFF Test Sets. Assure calibration and equipment compliance as required. Other responsibilities may include inspection of incoming parts and metalwork, parts requests, pre-expendable bin inventory and maintenance. These skills will also be used in reviewing, writing, and updating technical documentation and drawings, development of technical manuals, test plans and procedures and reviewing engineering change proposals (ECP) for accuracy and applicability. Will travel to locations throughout the US to install, maintain, and test IFF systems on US Navy ships and shore sites. Underway periods of up to two weeks are possible
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $35.64/hr.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Marys County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Some limited relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidate. Applicants must be currently residing in or willing to relocate to St. Marys County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
