Education & Job Requirements
* Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline; a Master’s degree is highly desired.
* Must have at a minimum of 6 years or more of experience in Systems Engineering of Information Assurance systems/products.
* Must have U.S. citizenship.
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others to coordinate efforts, influence, and resolve cross-team issues.
* Must have a complete understanding of the systems engineering process from concept phase through systems test, including Architecture Development, Functional Analysis, Requirements Allocation & Traceability, Trade-off Studies, System Synthesis, and System Evaluation (Integration & Verification Testing).
* Must have knowledge in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including Transport Layer Security (TLS) and certificate/key management.
* Must have experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
* Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time. Preferred Skills
* You will have an understanding of Key Management Systems, including Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) as they impact the design of End Cryptographic Units (ECUs).
* You will have proven experience in the architecture, design, analysis, integration, and testing of NSA-approved Type 1 Certified systems or equipment.
* You will have the ability to act as a single Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography.
* You will have exceptional security architecture development skills, including the ability to make complex design trade-offs affecting system security.
* You will have experience negotiating security requirements with NSA Technical Evaluators.
* You will have familiarity with NSA TSRD, IASRD, and FSDA requirements and processes.
* You will have experience with the development of NSA Security Evaluation Document (SED) CDRLs; multiple program experience is highly desirable.
* You will have working knowledge of Type 1, Suite A, Suite B, and Commercial Cryptographic algorithms (Symmetric and Asymmetric).
* You will have experience with Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework.
* You will have a Cybersecurity Credential (e.g., CISSP). Job Duties/Functions
* In this role, you will develop and maintain system architectures for Information Assurance (IA) and security-critical systems.
* In this role, you will perform requirements analysis, allocation, and traceability to ensure systems meet operational and security objectives.
* In this role, you will conduct trade-off studies, system synthesis, integration, and verification testing throughout the system lifecycle.
* In this role, you will implement and manage Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including TLS configurations and certificate/key management.
* In this role, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Information Assurance, security, and cryptography.
* In this role, you will design and assess secure systems that comply with NSA Type 1 certification and other regulatory requirements.
* In this role, you will prepare and review NSA Security Evaluation Documents (SEDs) and collaborate with Technical Evaluators on compliance.
* In this role, you will apply risk assessments and the Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework to protect systems against vulnerabilities.
* In this role, you will negotiate security requirements with NSA evaluators and make complex design trade-offs to optimize system security and performance.
* In this role, you will coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement secure solutions and resolve integration challenges.
* In this role, you will support system upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management activities.
* In this role, you will maintain awareness of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends to improve
* IA system designs.
* In this role, you will occasionally travel to program or customer sites as required.
