MOC Duty Engineer
Based in Budapest
Purpose of the role
The MOC Duty Engineer provides real-time expert guidance to Wizz Air pilots on MEL dispatch and technical troubleshooting while coordinating maintenance activities to ensure compliance and minimize operational disruptions.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate real-time advice and guidance to Wizz Air pilots on MEL dispatch and technical troubleshooting
- Act as the primary interface between the maintenance department and flight crew
- Manage the AOG recovery process, including initiating and following up on AOG spares requests
- Ensure compliance with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements
- Monitor MEL/CDL/critical deferred defects across the fleet and coordinate plans for rectification within allowed time limits
- Track and analyze repetitive defects across the fleet, liaising with flight crew and maintenance providers
- Liaise with maintenance providers to address technical issues and ensure resources are located for non-scheduled defects
- Obtain approved data from TC holder, STC holder, or Part 21 DO for non-standard aircraft damage or intensive troubleshooting
- Work with the Operations Control Centre (OCC) to update maintenance plans to minimize schedule disruptions
Experience
3-5+ years of relevant work experience with 2+ years of experience in a Part-145 or Part-M approved organization
Hard skills
- Thorough knowledge of Part-145 and Part-M regulations, including Subpart I
- Thorough understanding of CAME and MOE
- Good knowledge of AMOS and MS Office
Education
- Aircraft Technical Education such as EASA Part 66 Cat B1.1 LAME (A320 CEO and NEO)
- A320FAM CEO/NEO type training (Level III) (desired)
- A330 training (advantage)
- Fuel Tank Safety training, EWIS training, and Human Factors training
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (advantage)
Language
Fluent English (both written and spoken)
