Role Summary
* In this role, you will support the organization as a Senior Electrical Component, Assembly, and DMSMS Engineer. you will provide engineering expertise across the full production cycle, evaluate electrical and electro-mechanical components, manage obsolescence risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support compliance with government and industry standards. you will work onsite at the facility, collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and customers, and contribute to both new product development and legacy program sustainment. Education & Job Requirements You must have:
* A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
* Experience or insight with one or more of the following: Obsolescence Management, DMS, Parts Management, managing Bills of Material (BOMs), or researching alternate components.
* A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in an Obsolescence Management, DMSMS, or Component Engineering role where these activities were a primary responsibility.
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret clearance. Preferred Skills You will have:
* Previous experience working within the aerospace industry.
* Military experience.
* Avionics experience. Job Duties & Functions You will be:
* Applying engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components to evaluate new components for assembly and subassembly design.
* Supporting subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for use per the Parts Management Plan.
* Using your understanding of aircraft and weapons design requirements to recommend new and alternate electrical components for both new product development and legacy sustainment programs.
* Representing the employer at Electrical and Electronic Component National Committees.
* Using project management tools to meet cost, technical performance, and schedule requirements.
* Incorporating Environmental Health and Safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials, processes, procedures, labs, and work areas.
* Leading others, establishing work statements, defining strategies, and providing consultation while keeping management informed.
* Conducting obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using surveillance tools, predictive systems, and supplier surveys.
* Monitoring GIDEP alerts and preparing obsolescence status reports for internal teams and government customers.
* Developing mitigation options and business case analyses to support recommendations.
* Preparing presentation materials to communicate DMSMS issues and resolutions to customers and programs.
* Leading periodic DMS meetings with internal teams and external DoD and industry partners.
* Applying design and requirements knowledge to recommend new or alternate components for aircraft and weapons systems.
* Representing the site at enterprise-level DMS forums.
* Developing technical and cost proposals.
* Developing counterfeit testing approaches to assess the probability of electrical components being counterfeit.
* Reviewing Statements of Work and Contract Deliverables, recommending appropriate wording for tasks.
* Reviewing and assisting in the implementation of DoD parts management program requirements.
* Maintaining and improving software tools used to support DMSMS activities.
* Assisting programs in identifying and managing obsolescence risks.
