Raytheon’s Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who will support systems engineering operations, maintenance, and repair of a radar system. You will be responsible for radar facilities, computer systems operations and maintenance.
In this role you will be a Subject Matter Expert and technical point of contact for customer operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques, which may include leading teams or sub-contractors, working independently and side-by-side engineering team members.
This unaccompanied position will be onsite in Doha, Qatar for an 1-year international assignment with additional compensation, and potential extension.
- Must be able to travel with in country to provide support as needed.
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts for continuous radar operations.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignments including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.
What You Will Do
- Perform site radar systems engineering maintenance and operations utilizing a computer-based platform.
- Provide support to engineering, logistics, maintenance and operations teams.
- Provide reach-back collaboration with a System Integration Lab analysis team.
- Document and develop solutions in ALCS in collaboration with systems and software engineers and troubleshoot issues using filed support equipment.
- Present findings and solutions to leadership and/or customers.
- Confirm onsite radar processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware.
- Troubleshoot, isolate and correct malfunctions using program maintenance diagnostics, unit self-tests and built-in test equipment.
- Work full-time onsite in Qatar performing 12-hour radar shift tasks to ensure continuous radar operations.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
- Experience with radar systems operations, maintenance, integration, and data analysis.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Linux, Windows, Unix, and / or other programming language.
- Possess a valid U.S. passport and a U.S. drivers license
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP, or CASP and/or SIEM-specific training and certification.
- Experience should include test, integration, or verification and validation of X-Band family of radars, Early Warning Radars or other Missile Defense System sensors.
- Experience using shell scripting and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with design, development, or operation of radar systems and software architecture.
- Experience in radar system areas such as antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, multi-sensor track management and data fusion, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, electronic attack and electronic protect, or sensor resource management.
- Experience working independently and in team environments providing written and delivering presentation status updates.
- Experience with technical cybersecurity domain and maintaining compliance with future cybersecurity knowledge and technical updates.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
