Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $104.41-$109.41/Hour
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical lead for the design, development, and deployment of secure cloud-based solutions in a mission-critical defense environment.
- Develop and maintain scalable, reliable software solutions using Python and Java.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and infrastructure as code in accordance with DevOps best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, operations, and security teams to design secure, high-performance solutions.
- Integrate cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS managed services (EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
- Apply cybersecurity best practices including vulnerability management, encryption/PKI, logging, and incident response.
- Contribute to architectural planning and execution aligned with Scaled Agile methodology.
- Create clear documentation for cloud environments, APIs, automation scripts, and security protocols.
- Leverage AI tools and prompt engineering to streamline workloads and enhance productivity.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field(Master’s degree preferred)
- Clearance: Active or ability to obtain Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of related experience, or 8+ years with a Master’s degree
- Programming languages: Python, Java
- Cloud computing platforms: AWS (AWS Solutions Architect preferred); Azure is a plus
- DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS
- Security: Vulnerability management (e.g., ACAS/Grype), IAM, KMS, encryption/PKI, auditing, incident response
- API development and integration: RESTful APIs, testing, and lifecycle management
- Scripting & configuration: YAML, JSON, Bash; tools like Ansible, Terragrunt
- Monitoring & logging tools: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack
- Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence
- Version control: Git
- Preferred Skills:
- Event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka)
- Experience in highly regulated environments (defense, government)
- Exposure to AI tools and prompt engineering techniques
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
