Summary:
Fabricate, cover, and install flat panels and curtains using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications
Sew simple covers per engineering requirements
Work with fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, and other materials using adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools, and various power tools
Cut and serge carpets; cover bulkheads; cover and install panels
May fabricate metal parts and fit panels, windows, cabin headliners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, and windows
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work
Support process improvement initiatives with leads and senior technicians to improve safety, reduce cost, and minimize cycle time and labor hours (Lean Manufacturing)
Use Corridor to create parts demands, track squawks, and sign off work
Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use required PPE
Address unsafe conditions promptly
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
2 years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and/or various hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades
Aerospace industry experience preferred
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation
Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math
Computer literate
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small/restricted areas, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
