PURPOSE:

Perform all required duties to receive, store, pack and ship all incoming and outgoing goods for the company. Perform material handling duties to maintain departmental supply quotas, assume stock room duties, and assist with maintaining all required records and reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, parts, and other items following established practice. Assist in unloading materials and supplies as necessary. Count, weigh, or otherwise check incoming items to assure correctness of shipment and compliance with accompanying traveling documents, purchase and shipping orders. Transport, or request transportation of shipments to designated departments, storage, or other areas. Prepare receiving reports and other related documents in established form and detail. Notify supervisor of shortages, damages, or other discrepancies, and prepare all necessary substantiating reports.
  • Transport materials to all departments to maintain established quotas; perform necessary loading and unloading operations. Prepare sample of investment material as received and forward for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist shipping clerks with invoicing and customer portals.
  • Assist shipping clerks to resolve invoicing issues
  • Perform stock room duties, maintain file cards, stocking, and storing parts and supplies, central purchasing order files, records of subcontracted orders, and all other reports or records as required; perform other associated duties as required.
  • Keep area in shipping area and inside/outside of dock area clean and orderly as well as perform any preventative maintenance as directed by facilities team.
  • Detect and report defective or damaged material and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform a variety of other tasks and duties of equal or less complexity as assigned by supervisor.
  • May perform a variety of typing, recording, and billing duties for products and or materials.
  • Ships and transports material to production Depts ensuring no damage to parts.
  • Packs and prepares, products, materials, tooling etc. for shipment.
  • Packs products according to procedure or in such a manner to prevent damage.
  • Verifies material to be shipped against shipping documents.
  • May assemble cartons or cases.
  • Packs cartons, seals containers, affixes address label, weighs container and contents and completes documentation as assigned.
  • Assists in preparing bills of lading and shipping reports.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift or ability to be trained.
  • Must possess valid drivers’ license
  • Delivery and pickup using Company leased commercial vehicle requires passing leasing company physical examinations which includes negative test result for illegal substances.

SPEICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Packs outgoing, and receive incoming shipments; maintain all required records, and prepare documents and reports. Requires the use of judgment to comply with procedures to receive, check and stone or dispose of material, maintain related records in established form and detail, verify incoming/outgoing shipment. Affixes postage.
  • Moderate physical effort handling incoming parts and materials unloading vehicles, transporting items, performing other related duties. Average lifting 34 lbs.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention checking shipments, maintaining records, storing, and issuing items, performing other related duties.
  • Attention to detail is critical.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Use ordinary arithmetic, decimals, and fractions.
  • Work from specifications and schedules.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Computer experience
  • 3 months experience.
  • Forklift driving experience preferred but will train.
