Job PurposeThe Chief Inspector is a critical leadership role within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, responsible for overseeing all inspection activities, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety. This individual plays a key role in the management of the Repair Station’s quality assurance program and is instrumental in ensuring that all aircraft components and maintenance activities meet the necessary standards. Education & Job Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance or a related field preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation maintenance and inspection, including supervisory or management roles
* In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, including FAR Part 145
* Strong understanding of maintenance manuals, technical data, and regulatory requirements
* Proficiency in auditing techniques, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
* Familiarity with aircraft maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience with tools and equipment calibration and documentation processes PreferredJob Requirements
* Previous experience as a Chief Inspector in a Part 145 Repair Station
* ASQ or other quality certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Inspector)

* Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, crouch, crawl, and twist. Reach, push, and pull with hands and arms. Lift up to 50 pounds
* Working Conditions:Most work takes place inside an industrial/warehouse environment.Employees may handle hazardous materials or have exposure to airborne fumes. The noise level is usually mild to moderate, 75 of the time Job Duties
* Ensure all inspection and maintenance activities comply with FAA Part 145 regulations, Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and applicable customer and manufacturer requirements.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FAA regulations, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs) to ensure compliance.
* Develop and implement inspection procedures for incoming, in-process, and final work.
* Oversee and perform inspections of components, aircraft systems, and maintenance activities to verify compliance with approved technical data and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor and audit tools, equipment, and calibration records to ensure they meet the required standards.
* Manage the Repair Station’s quality assurance program, including internal audits, supplier audits, and corrective actions.
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including non-conformances, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Review and approve all required documentation, including maintenance release, logbook entries, and work orders.
* Lead and mentor a team of inspectors to ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Provide training and guidance on inspection techniques, regulatory updates, and quality assurance practices.
* Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
* Maintain accurate and complete records of inspections, audits, and maintenance activities.
* Oversee proper documentation and traceability of aircraft parts, ensuring adherence to FAA and industry requirements.
* Ensure compliance with record retention policies as defined in the RSM/QCM.
* Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager, maintenance team, and customers to address and resolve quality issues.
* Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity on inspection findings and requirements.
* The employee may also be assigned additional duties as deemed necessary by management. These may include, but are not limited to: Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) compliance, maintaining Warehouse ASA certification, and other responsibilities as required.
