Engineer, IPT Propulsion & Mechanical Systems
Support the Lead Engineer and the overall product development Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the propulsion systems discipline. This position will entail Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling, drawing creation and maintenance, propulsion systems analysis, test planning and reporting, and general shop-floor and experimental hangar coordination for propulsion installation and functionality.
Produce installation layouts, component designs, solid models, drawings, engineering orders (EOs) and specifications to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification and Company standards
Prepare engineering data for FAA certification such as specifications, test plans, substantiation reports, and design configuration documents
Review data and support the process of selecting vendors for the purchase of components that meet specifications and design intent
Review and validate installations and components through simulation, analysis, and test data interpretation
Support production and/or experimental hangar personnel in the troubleshooting of assembly and operational problems
Understand program requirements and create designs to fulfill the program requirements
Support the IPT in the preparation of material for presentation at design and program reviews
Be knowledgeable and able to represent the PPMS discipline in various program reviews and flight test briefings
Perform other related duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will not have any direct supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering
Minimum of three (3) years experience with propulsion systems installation development and certification
General knowledge of all phases of aircraft design, analysis, testing, approval, as well as hands-on knowledge of FAA certification procedures and regulations, is required to perform the duties of this position
Proficiency in CAD modeling and design practices using Siemens NX and engineering configuration management using Teamcenter
Preferred:
An understanding and working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 23
Pilot experience, airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanic, and/or understanding of flight crew duties and responsibilities is beneficial
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form
