Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated First Article Inspector (FAI) to maintain and enhance quality assurance systems, working closely with customer quality engineers and internal stakeholders. You will play a vital role in process improvement initiatives and assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits. This position requires the disposition and control of non-conforming products, review and approval of First Articles from suppliers, and performing First Articles for submission to customers. You will program and operate advanced inspection and test equipment and work collaboratively with the Customer Quality Engineer and Quality Management on implementing new inspection, measurement, and test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain QA internal and external systems, ensuring timely updates and closure of actions.
  • Communicate opportunities for process improvement and assist with RCCA activities.
  • Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
  • Control and disposition of non-conforming products.
  • Review and approve First Articles from suppliers and perform First Articles for submission to customers.
  • Program and operate advanced inspection and test equipment such as vision and instant measurement equipment, CMM, and XREF.
  • Collaborate with Customer Quality Engineer and Quality Management for new equipment implementation and part verification.
  • Manage site Calibration system including database maintenance, certificates, Calibration Procedures, and confirming services for invoicing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of related work experience (4-6 years preferred)
  • Experience with customer quality systems and managing customer requirements
  • Proficiency in Net Inspect
  • Previous aerospace inspection experience
  • Knowledge of QA inspection methods and procedures
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to pass documented color and near vision exam
  • Experience with calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator
  • Advanced GD&T Skills – Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel)
  • Understanding of Six Sigma / Lean concepts

Work Environment

The work environment is within an office inside a warehouse. It is air-conditioned, very clean, and well-organized. The position requires working 100 onsite from Monday to Friday, with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

This is a Contract position based out of Enfield, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
