Job Title: Level II Non-Destructive Testing TechnicianJob Description
Utilize fluorescent dye to detect surface defects in aircraft components, primarily turbines. This includes applying dye, cleaning surfaces, inspecting under black light, documenting results, reporting discrepancies, training other employees, setting up and calibrating equipment, following procedures, and interpreting results.
Responsibilities
- Apply a fluorescent dye to the surface of a material and let it soak in for up to 30 minutes.
- Clean the surface of the material before applying the dye to remove any contaminants like oil, dirt, or paint.
- Examine the material under a black light or fluorescent light to look for defects.
- Document the inspection results, including any defects found.
- Report any damage or discrepancies to the appropriate person.
- Train other employees on how to perform the job.
- Set up and calibrate the equipment used for the inspection.
- Follow specific operating procedures and work instructions.
- Interpret and evaluate the test results.
Essential Skills- Ability to independently perform all the duties of an NDT Level II Technician.
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and specifications.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation skills pertaining to aerospace production detail parts and sub-assemblies.
- Basic mathematic skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods with limited movement.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work alone or as a member of a team, demonstrating good cooperative skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI) Level II certification.
- X-Ray Level II certification.

Work Environment
Machine shop/metal fabrication atmosphere with a normal shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm. When busy, expect 5 hours of overtime weekly.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
