The PPE / Floor Inspector is responsible for monitoring maintenance floor activity to ensure compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, safety policies, and quality standards within a corporate aviation maintenance facility. This role supports a strong safety culture by conducting real-time observations, identifying unsafe conditions, and coordinating corrective actions to prevent incidents and maintain regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maintenance floor operations to ensure proper use of required PPE in accordance with company policies, OSHA standards, and FAA safety practices.
- Conduct routine safety walks and spot checks of hangar, ramp, and shop areas.
- Identify unsafe acts, hazardous conditions, and PPE non-compliance; address issues immediately and document findings.
- Coordinate with technicians, leads, and supervisors to correct safety deficiencies in real time.
- Verify proper housekeeping, tool control, FOD prevention, and safe work practices.
- Support implementation and enforcement of Safety Management System (SMS) policies.
- Document safety observations, corrective actions, and trends for management review.
- Assist with safety briefings, toolbox talks, and employee safety awareness initiatives.
- Support internal audits, FAA visits, and customer inspections related to safety and floor compliance.
- Promote a positive, professional safety culture while maintaining productivity and quality.
