Responsibilities
- Perform welding using various processes such as flux cored arc welding (FCAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) on materials including carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Cut, trim, fit, and fabricate weldments to precise dimensions using standard tools and practices of the welding trade.
- Collaborate with the lead welder to assess the appropriate weld procedure, material, and rod size for each project.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to effectively plan welding operations when procedural information is unavailable.
- Strive to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned to ensure a productive and efficient work environment.
Essential Skills- 5+ years of professional experience in GTAW welding with SCH 10 stainless steel pipe or SCH 10 carbon steel pipe.
- 5+ years of professional experience in FCAW welding with stainless steel or carbon steel.
- Welding qualifications in accordance with governing codes such as AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.6, or ASME Section IX.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 1+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment using FCAW or GTAW methods on SCH 10 pipe.
- Proficiency in tube/pipe cutting, grinding, and fabrication.
- Knowledge of DC, GTAW welding techniques, and engineering requirements.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Cocoa, Florida.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
