Position Summary
The Division IT Manager will provide leadership and management for the Information Technology function at Parker Canada Division. Responsible for working directly with division leadership to develop IT strategic plans to aid the business in meeting financial and operational commitments. Responsible for improving IT operational efficiencies, leading Lean initiatives, driving cost efficiencies, and implementing best practice standards and documentation.
This role reports directly to the Vice President of IT for the Fluid Connectors Group and indirectly to the Parker Canada Division General Manager. Interacts routinely with all division functional areas, as well as with other parts of Parker IT and key vendors and service providers. Parker Canada division IT supports the Division Headquarters in Milton, Ontario (including all functional areas, the PSC, Hose Assembly, Cylinder and Engineered Systems value steams) as well as the Winnipeg, Manitoba site. Additionally, support is provided to the Hose Product Division Fergus, Ontario site infrastructure and business systems and supporting the Canadian Field sales team.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with division functional teams to understand needs and develop a roadmap for delivering enhanced capabilities, new technology and systems.
- Responsible for working with division, group, and corporate resources to implement best practice Infrastructure and security processes and technology.
- Actively participate on the division leadership team overseeing the operation and setting the strategic direction of the business.
- Collaborate with business, manufacturing, and global counterparts to align the IT organization with business strategies, develop annual budgets, and develop strategic five-year plans.
- Lead the team responsible for maintaining systems and processes to keep existing systems running and meeting performance standards and service levels of the business. Keep existing systems up to date and secure by upgrading, enhancing, and patching.
- Enhance systems and processes to be SOX compliant, including disaster recovery plans and vulnerability remediation.
- Responsible for recruiting, developing, and maintaining a high performing staff and divisional IT organization. Lead talent development, succession, and strategic workforce planning efforts.
- Work with corporate IT teams to determine which systems should be division solutions and which should be enterprise solutions. Develop plans for each and execute.
- Source, review and select new technology, data science and AI tools for PCD.
- Lead the IT organization to ensure the highest levels of safety, ethics, and quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others typically acquired through ten or more years of increasing experience and responsibility, including at least three years leading an IT team or function.
- Effective communication, project management and customer service skills.
- Prior experience supporting ERP systems is required. SAP experience is a plus.
- Prior experience leading IT in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing and related principles would be considered an asset.
- Ability to travel to other Parker sites as required.
