This position will be the East Asia Regional Manager for the Partnership Program Office. The position will be responsible for managing our East Asia supply chain which is predominantly comprised on RRSP and JV partners.
What You Will Do:
- Reporting to this position will be in-country Supplier Development Leaders (three in Japan and one in Korea).
- This position will work to continuously improve our partnership supply chain in East Asia.
- This position will also work directly with our Value Stream Management teams in the USA ensuring positive communication between stakeholders.
- This position will build skills sets into the team that will allow them to assess, plan and execute continuous improvement activities in the partner supply base to ensure on time delivery, zero non-conformances, and required capacity.
- This position will interface will all aspects of the internal organization: Operations, Engineering, Quality, Global Supply Chain, Senior Leadership, Legal, Global Trade and others.
- This position is responsible for improving partner supply performance, sustaining and improving Partner relationships, supporting Supplier Quality, and assuring their Delivery performance. Chosen candidate will also be involved in and exposed to business discussions between P&W and its partners regarding the underlying business agreements.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors Degree and 14 years of experience to include Value Stream Management, Complex Project Management, Material Management and Logistics, Critical Event Management, Risk Management, Decision Making, Cultural Awareness, and direct people management
- Ability and consideration to support extensive regional and occasional USA travel supporting multiple countries and partner suppliers
- Passport holder allowing access to Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with Japanese Aerospace companies including the Heavy Industries Engine businesses, knowledge and relationships with their personnel
- Knowledge of and relationships with Japanese Aero Engines Corporation
- Knowledge of and relationships with Ministry of Trade and Industry and other government aerospace sponsoring organizations
- Japanese language capability including speaking and writing
- Prior experience communicating cross functionally and with all levels of leadership
- Experience with new facility start up
- Export Compliance Management including authorship and or ownership of STAs and or Licenses
- Six-Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience
- Practical Aerospace or Engineering experience
