The Engineering Prototyping & Fabrication department is seeking a Lead Electrical Prototyping Technician to work in an engineering environment to co-develop engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements, as well as industry standards. Candidates will collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects to bring design concepts to fruition, providing rapid fabrication and prototyping solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle. The Lead Technician will assist in managing incoming work, support work delegation, provide guidance and training to peers, and perform complex electrical assembly fabrication.    

What You Will Do:

• Review highly complex designs to provide producibility recommendations to customers and/or team.
• Oversee workmanship, traceability and paperwork of Electrical Fabricated Hardware.
• Provide labor estimates for incoming jobs (awareness of fabrication techniques).
• Determine required tooling and best practice.
• Provide training to engineering support technicians, i.e. how to perform specific operations, or training on shop best practices.
• Redline drawings to reflect as-built requirements.
• Lead an Electrical Fabrication team.
• Provide status updates to Section Lead, Project Integrator, and/or customers.  
• Ensure Lab compliance including awareness of which certifications are required to complete specific operations.  
• Provide surge work support –flexible/complex tasks.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical drawings and/or schematics.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
   

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Effective interpersonal skills in order to develop rapport and build positive relationships with both internal and external customers
• Experience analyzing and interpreting schematics and drawings to identify producibility issues
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe software, including 3D-PDFs
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to use good judgement and to work independently or collaboratively in an engineering environment
• Associates degree in related field; OR military electronics or avionics training, OR vocational or college program certificate
• Experience leading a team
• Ability to prioritize work, understanding of schedule and budgets
• J-STD-001 Solder certification
• IPC 610 & 620 Acceptability certifications
• Familiarity with Raytheon fabrication and quality standards, documentation, and practices
• Familiarity with RAPID

The salary range for this role is 56,000 USD - 112,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
