This Senior Product Cost Estimator is responsible for developing, analyzing, and supporting cost estimates in proposals to our government customers that are timely, compliant, and of the highest quality, utilizing various cost estimating techniques.
This individual will play a role in driving consistent processes enabling strategic decision-making across GE Aerospace’s Defense Engines and Services programs.
We are looking for seasoned, customer focused individuals with understanding of financial deal analysis, cost estimating, and risk management – a team player who thrives by collaborating across a matrix to efficiently progress customer outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities
Additionally, as a Senior Product Cost Estimator, Key responsibilities will include:
- Partner with engineering, supply chain, finance, and program management teams to leverage long term business valuation projections and other relevant data to develop/support cost estimates
- Analytical review of historical cost data from various internal systems to develop/support cost estimates
- Analyze business data and prepare comprehensive cost analysis reports
- Identify and effectively communicate deal risks to the deal factory management team
- Support Cost Estimating Audits by both internal & external audit teams, taking ownership of subsequent findings as appropriate
- Actively drive culture of continuous improvement through the applications of LEAN
- Identify and lead lean improvements within the Cost Estimating and associated processes
- Lead implementation of cost estimating simplification projects and best practices
- Support full RFP lifecycle through submission, fact find, and subsequent negotiations with internal & external customer regarding cost estimates
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within the cost base to expedite RFP lifecycle and forecast accuracy
- Develop expertise in the Défense and Systems business
- Customer engagement with US Air Force, Navy, Army and local DCMA/DCAA to support cost estimates
- Develop cost analytics to better demonstrate our cost basis
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.
- 8 years of experience in risk management, accounting, finance, sourcing, government contracting or similar field.
- Experience with DCMA/DCAA or similar Government Agencies

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
