Join Cathay as a Solution Lead in our Integrated Operations (IOC) Solution Centre. You will be the one to manage advanced IT systems that streamline flight operations for our people and enhance experience for our customers across our global network.

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Design and Solution Architecture 

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand their direction, challenges, and requirements, translating them into technically and commercially viable solution proposals
  • Conceptualize and design scalable, reliable, and secure process automation solutions. You will own the technical design, selecting the right tools (Python, TypeScript, etc.) and creating the necessary architectural artifacts

Agile Delivery and Project Execution 

  • Initiate, plan, and drive the execution of projects within an Agile framework, ensuring your team delivers high-quality solutions on time
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to groom the backlog, refine requirements, and translate them into well-defined technical user stories
  • Define and execute testing strategies for all solution aspects, including security, performance, and integration, to ensure production readiness

Technical Leadership and People Management 

  • Uphold a high standard of code quality by conducting rigorous code reviews, establishing engineering best practices, and managing the team’s technical debt.
  • Serve as the escalation point for the complex technical challenges, stepping in to design, code, and implement solutions when necessary
  • Cultivate a collaborative, innovative, and accountable environment that encourages technical excellence and continuous improvement

Application Ownership and Continuous Improvement 

  • Take full responsibility for the applications within your Scrum team, overseeing both new features development and the ongoing maintenance lifecycle
  • Oversee production support, ensuring timely resolution of issues and implementing robust monitoring and alerting to maintain high availability
Requirements
  • Degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 8+ years of related IT experience covering but not limited to:
    • Hands-on software development, with proficiency in Python and TypeScript
    • Direct people management of technical teams, including responsibility for performance reviews and code reviews
    • Solution architecture and the end-to-end design of complex, scalable applications
    • System and business analysis, with a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
    • Leading project delivery and testing within an Agile framework
  • Client facing experience with successful relationship management is a plus
  • Proven verbal and written communication skill
  • Professional, passionate, innovative, self-motivated and able to present solutions to diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity
  • Proven troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
  • Airline or travel industry knowledge is highly beneficial
  • Solid software development skill is highly beneficial
