Role Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, this role is critical in creating capacity and driving operational efficiency across a dynamic team that encompasses four key sub-functions: Communications, Public Affairs, Brand, and Government Relations. Operating within an organization guided by the mantra of "one team," the Senior Director will play a central role in driving and optimizing strategic planning, operational leadership, and functional development for the Corporate Affairs team. This role will help advance ongoing organizational design efforts to enhance collaboration, streamline processes, and strengthen business acumen across the team. The Senior Director will also be a driving force in scaling FLIGHT DECK capabilities across the Corporate Affairs team, ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace’s lean operating principles and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, this leader will enable the team to focus on achieving the organization’s top three priorities: 1. Protect and Promote the GE Aerospace Brand and Reputation 2. Accelerate and Scale FLIGHT DECK Across the Organization 3. Enable GE Aerospace to Lead in Inventing the Future of Flight.
In addition to working closely with the Corporate Affairs leadership team, the Senior Director will cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including senior executives, functional leaders, and external partners. This role demands a high degree of business acumen and strategic foresight to support the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer in preparing materials and insights for Board of Directors meetings, ensuring alignment across team with corporate strategy and driving high-impact projects. The Senior Director will also collaborate with Finance and Legal teams to ensure transparency and provide updates on corporate affairs activities that intersect with regulatory and reputational risks.
Required Qualifications;
- A Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Business Administration, Political Science or related field
- 10+ years of experience in corporate affairs, communications, public relations, government relations
- Proven experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams to align strategies against organizational priorities
- Experience leading initiatives that foster collaboration, drive operational efficiency and strengthen business acumen across the organization
- Proven experience navigating complex organizational dynamics
- Experience developing strategic planning processes and advising senior leaders and/or serving as a delegate for senior leadership in engagements.
- Experience preparing materials and insights for Board of Directors meetings, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and critical initiatives.
