Job Responsibilities

Develop, lead and manage all aspects of the organization’s ground handling services to maximize growth and profitability while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

While this is a remote position, this person must be located in the MST or PST time zones.

Strategic Dimension


• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the top executive level to develop and implement a business strategy for ground handling that is aligned with ground handling globally and the corporate objectives

Operational Dimension


• Oversee, monitor and evaluate the business to drive performance improvements and profitability
• Pursue and drive profitable new business opportunities in line with the overall business strategy
• Lead and oversee the implementation of standards, tools and optimization of operations and infrastructure
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with key clients (internal / external).
• Represent the organization in interactions with external parties (government regulators, airport authorities, key clients, service providers).
• Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of senior managers in furthering organizational objectives

Key Performance Indicators


• Performance Management: Ontime Performance (OTP), First Bag, Last Bag, Net Promoter Score (NPS)
• Safety Management: Aircraft Damages (ACD), Lost Time Injuries (LTI), Regulatory and Mandatory Training Compliance
• GSE Management: Operational Availability and Preventive Maintenance
• Labor & Financial Management: Worked Hours, Overtime, HPF (Hours/Flight), DLR (Direct Labor Ratio), Attrition, Station EBIT and Budget

Qualifications and Competencies


• University degree or equivalent
• Fluent command of English as the corporate language
• 10 to 15 years of overall business experience
• Solid track record of working at a senior level. This includes successful leadership and P&L responsibility with a strong focus on performance and profit improvement
• Successful background in turnaround situations
• Advanced strategic skills and commercial acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams in a multicultural environment
• Highly developed interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple constituencies and mentor staff
• High energy, personal presence and maturity as components of leadership ability in order to facilitate the best decision making and achieve results
• Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations.
• Personal and professional integrity of the highest order
