Role IntroductionReports to: Head of Strategic Engagement
The Strategic Engagement Manager position sits under the Corporate Affairs Department (CAF) in Cathay, mainly responsible for becoming a communicator between Cathay Pacific and key stakeholders including government officials of The Chinese Mainland and HKSAR, political parties, lawmakers, KOLs and celebrities. Reporting to Head of Strategic Engagement, the Strategic Engagement Manager also responsible for the planning and execution of stakeholders’ engagement programmes and action plans for fostering public support and mitigate risks, so as to facilitate the implementation of corporate projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- To assist Head of Strategic Engagement in the formulation of strategic engagement plan to foster positive relationships with key stakeholders as their primary point of contact, ensuring stakeholders remain satisfied with our services
- To establish networks and build up rapport with stakeholders to facilitate the communication between them and the company, including to act as a contact point for stakeholders, especially for local political heavyweights
- To coordinate and facilitate replies to enquiries, requests and complaints received from the Legislative Council, Government Departments and the public
- To plan, coordinate and organize meetings, visits and other engagement activities to foster good relations with various stakeholders groups so as to enhance enlist their support and understanding of the business of Cathay
- Oversee the secretarial works for the Board of Airline Representatives (BAR), including organizing and coordinating the meetings, communications and activities for the Executive Committee of the BAR and its members
- Responsible for solving any issue that key stakeholders experiences with Cathay
- Oversee the stakeholder databases to ensure all data are essential and updated
- Conduct research and critically evaluate data and information collected from stakeholders, especially during elections, key government policy announcements and events to identify and recommend opportunities, execute communication and lobbying strategies and implement improvements of Cathay
- Design and develop designated programs and activities for key stakeholder, ensuring alignment with current CAF’s programs and activities
- Work towards CAF’s ultimate goal which is to enhance Cathay’s reputation and mitigate reputational damages and risks
Requirements- Degree holder with major in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related disciplines
- 10+ relevant working years in public relations and corporate communications and at least 5 years of management experiences
- Strong network and knowledge with local stakeholders, including government officials, lawmakers, political parties and concern groups
- Knowledge and connection with the political framework in Chinese Mainland would be an advantage
- Profound professional knowledge and skills in networking and interpersonal skills
- Strong political sensitivity and familiar in current socio-economic environment
- Strong aptitude in leadership, action planning and organising
- Demonstrable experience in crisis management within a very fast-moving environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese is a must
- Communicate like a leader
