The Sub-Section Manager – EW Stress Analysis is responsible for delivering analytical solutions to optimize the design of components and systems for GE Aerospace Edison Works military jet engines. This role involves leading a team to conduct stress analyses using advanced tools and methodologies, contributing to new product introductions, improving existing products, and resolving manufacturing issues in collaboration with the mechanical design team. The manager will oversee a team of direct reports with moderate autonomy, exercising technical and operational judgment to prioritize tasks and enhance the team’s quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
- Drives adoption and implementation of FLIGHT DECK tools and advance design automation through AI/ML applications to integrate, streamline, and optimize design processes
- Manages a small to medium team of senior professionals as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
- Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Required Qualifications

- Masters degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Demonstrated experience with design, test, and analysis tools relating to thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, flow networks, or heat transfer.
- Experience with gas turbine design
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
