Summary:
Perform manual and selective soldering of through-hole, SMT, BGA, QFN, CSP, and other component types.
Conduct visual inspections and use inspection tools (microscopes, AOI, etc.) to identify solder defects such as bridges, cold joints, tombstoning, insufficient wetting, and voids.
Apply IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), IPC-J-STD-001 (Soldering Materials), and IPC-2221/2222 (Design Standards) throughout the assembly process.
Verify that solder paste, flux, and materials meet required specifications.
Recommend and support improvements to soldering processes, tooling, and work instructions.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong understanding of IPC standards.
Ability to perform manual and selective soldering of through-hole, SMT, BGA, QFN, CSP, and other component types.
Experience conducting visual inspections using microscopes, AOI, and other inspection tools.
Ability to identify common solder defects, including bridges, cold joints, tombstoning, insufficient wetting, and voids.
Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, and IPC-2221/2222 standards.
Ability to verify solder paste, flux, and material specifications.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.
Capability to recommend improvements to soldering processes and tooling.
Commitment to following safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and PPE requirements.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
