Position Summary
Make PTFE tube by operating sintering ovens and take up equipment; monitor for proper product quality.
Provide Quality Control lab with test samples from each extrusion
Adjust pads on take up according to the size of diameter on manufacturing specifications and change oven profiles according to instructions
Communicate number of preforms needed for job based on footage to extrusion department
Create SPC chart for new job to track OD
Monitor and measure wall thickness, OD and ID of beginning and ending cuts
After finished tube is extruded, pressure test with air
If needed, run finished tube through roller test before pressure testing with air
Fill out Preform Record Form, enter data into MRP, print labels and use scanner to place in stock
Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5S practices
Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines
Report production issues to Direct Lead
Perform work of an equal or lower classification
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (relevant experience, education and/or training):
High School Diploma or GED, recognizes International Diplomas (may need to be translated to English)
U.S. citizen or permanent residency status required
Must be able to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications, understand and use shop math, use and interpret measuring instruments (i.e. calipers, micrometers, pi tape, etc.)
Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate manufacturing equipment (i.e., sintering ovens, take up, pressure test machine, etc.)
Must be able to write legibly, read and speak English
Must be able to work and communicate with peers
Must be able to adapt to production needs to satisfy customer demands
Basic understanding of lean fundamentals and computer skills preferred
Physical & PPE Requirements:
Standing, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), walking, working under normal conditions. Exposure to hot machinery (sintering ovens), fluoropolymer resin and isopar fumes. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and ear plugs (85-90 dB) are all required when working in the mfg plant. All PPE provided by Company.
