Role Summary
* In this role, you will prepare, prime, and apply finish coatings to aircraft parts, components, nacelles, and flight control surfaces in alignment with aerospace-quality standards. You will support the facility’s paint operations by performing detailed surface preparation, mixing coatings to specification, and applying finishes in accordance with technical data, regulatory requirements, and organizational procedures. Education & Job Requirements
* Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
* A minimum of 3 years of aircraft painting experience.
* Must have a valid driver’s license.
* Must have knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in aircraft painting and methods of mixing paint colors.
* Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical publications.
* Must have the ability to understand and follow instructions and maintain strong attention to detail.
* Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Skills
* Aviation painting experience on either fixed-wing or rotorcraft platforms. Job Duties & Functions
* Research technical data and perform aircraft painting functions in accordance with maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and organizational policies.
* Clean, sand, and apply chemical solutions to properly prepare and condition surfaces for painting.
* Mix and thin paints and coatings to specified color and consistency requirements.
* Mask and protect surfaces not designated for painting.
* Spray primers, protective coatings, decorative finishes, and other materials using approved spray equipment.
* Perform general maintenance tasks such as equipment upkeep and shop housekeeping.
* Strip, sand, mask, and apply insignias, symbols, designs, or spanings using stencils, patterns, or spray equipment.
* Regulate equipment controls to properly cure and dry coatings.
* Set up portable ventilators, exhaust units, ladders, and scaffolding as required.
* Ensure all documentation is completed accurately in training records and signed by appropriate leadership.
