Cargo Sales Manager
Job Description:

Efficiently and profitably manage and direct new business sales for your region within USA, by expanding the customer base, service lines and locations.

Meet and exceed the new business sales targets both annualized and actual year impact for revenue, EBIT, ROS and ROI / RONA.

Support the SVP and General Managers within the region in the pursuit of new business sales.

Job Responsibilities

Planning

  • Prepare the quarterly and annual sales plan and strategy for the region including Target Accounts.
  • Prepare the regional sales expense budget.
  • Secure competitor data and intelligence for the region on an ongoing basis.

Ensuring

  • Ensure that new business sales targets for Revenue / EBIT / ROS / RONA and ROI, both annualized and actual year, are met.
  • Develop / maintain good working relationship with Home / Regional Offices of Target Accounts.
  • Develop / maintain good working relationships with assigned Global Key Customer Accounts.
  • Develop / maintain good working relationships with Airport Licensing Departments for expansion into new airports in Territory or to expand service lines offered in existing airports.

Controlling

  • Confirm that procedures for all new business bid preparation; proposals and Agreements are established and followed in accordance with SOP.
  • Submit all reports as required in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare all Agreements for new business and review all Amendments to existing contracts or renegotiated Agreements to ensure they conform to global policy.

Supporting

  • Develop and maintain a close and effective working relationship with all stakeholders in the sales process.
  • Assist in the development of the Proforma Pricing Model for all new business sales and secure appropriate signoffs.
  • Support SVP Sales & Marketing to develop potential new customer contacts and to identify target accounts.
  • Compliance with Swissport CRM tool in maintaining good customer relations for existing customers.

Authority

  • Submitting approved offers to customers
  • Negotiating agreements within agreed parameters
  • Pursuing new business lines and new locations within Territory
  • Developing new business lines based on local conditions
  • Finance competence as authorized by Corporate SOP

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue / EBIT / ROS / RONA-ROA, actual versus budget annualized and actual year
  • New stations opened in the region.
  • New service lines opened at existing locations
  • Bids won to bids submitted ratio
  • Retention ratio

Travel

  • Able to Travel up to 75 to support job responsibilities

Qualifications and Competency

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales management experience within the aviation industry, with expertise in ground handling sales/operations
  • Solid professional network with various airline constituents
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Distinct customer focus (internal and external)
  • Computer literacy including strong ability to develop and deliver sales presentations and business cases
  • Must have solid executive presence and poise
  • Ability to analyze and interpret relevant financial data
  • Foreign language skills a plus
