Raytheon operates and maintains the Navy’s three Relocatable Over The Horizon Radars (ROTHR) systems. The ROTHR mission is to track and report the movement of aircraft and ships.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for periodic updates of existing technical documentation, induction of new technical documentation, and implementation of change incorporation notices (CIN) as determined/directed by the ROTHR Quality Assurance Department. Maintains and updates the ROTHR Technical Documentation Master inventory in EAM/MMIS, including revision numbers and change pages. Collects and prepares all materials for binding (e.g. Hardcopy or DVD) of ROTHR technical documentation, maintains binding records in MMIS and annotates unit shelf listing. Processes binding transfers, adds, withdrawals, title changes; etc. Verifies and corrects binding discrepancies as identified by ROTHR QA. Prepares purchase orders for necessary library materials, and monitors status of order. Answers inquiries regarding documentation availability and assists library users in accessing technical documentation.
  • Revises or writes standardized material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. Update the ROTHR Technical Documentation Master inventory in EAM/MMIS with the latest documentation indicated in approved ECP’s (Engineering Change Proposal) by accessing the documents in Raytheon’s Common PDM website. Writing, editing, and formatting documents and spreadsheets for ROTHR contract deliverables (CDRLs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Local Operating Procedures (LOPs).
  • Ensures the ROTHR programs SharePoint and EAM/MMIS database remain up to date with all required documentation. Access blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
  • Attends and contributes to Program Management and ROTHR functional department meetings. Receives technical direction from supervisor/program leaders, notes or manuals containing operating procedures and details manufacturers catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.
  • Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology; maintain records and files of work and revisions, select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material; assist in laying out material for publication arrange for typing, duplication and distribution of material; and may specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures. Candidate will perform all other related duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with Share Point
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.), Adobe, and Zoom. Demonstrated experience tracking changes and formatting of deliverables, standard operating procedures, and other technical documentation.
  • Must have a clean motor vehicle driving record to obtain and maintain access to DoD installations.
  • The selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued DoD Secret clearance.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance and to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active and current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.
  • Resourceful problem solver. Candidate must have good judgment and take initiative to complete tasks in a self-directing manner. Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Customer service oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of internal and external customers to include senior leadership, managers, supervisors, all levels of associates, and Government Customer. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and autonomously. Must be a team player, exhibiting willingness to assist in other program areas as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy while responding quickly and efficiently to all requests. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work within a multi-tasking environment to meet task deadlines and due dates. Handles confidential information with appropriate discretion.
  • Ability to grasp basic engineering and technical concepts quickly in a dynamic work environment.
  • Technical Database Management experience.
  • Experience planning and scheduling meetings to include calendar organization and meeting coordination.
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 additional years of related experience.
